The easiest way, is with a large bowl. Let tap water sit out in the bowl for an hour or so to get the bubbles out. Then, dip the dome full of opals in the bowl to fill it all the way. Then, take the stopper and start to push it in, kind of rocking it, until some water squirts out a side. That will pull the stopper in very securely, and no bubbles should remain.
