*** Leopard Opal - In Basalt Matrix - Difficult to capture the color play in photos!
*** Apparently, it comes from one small, remote mining location, in mountainous terrain.
Sometimes the opal dots are hydrophane, meaning they will go clear if wet. After a day they dry
out and the colors return.... The matrix is slightly softer than a '6', but they take a good polish,
and are quite hardy for jewelry use....
